Who knows what the future may hold? Vehicles powered by petrol? Women in the workplace? This offering looks into National Geographic's hypothesis as to what would happen to the Earth if all of the humans were to suddenly disappear. Unsurprisingly, the Earth seems somewhat unphased.
Life without humans. This experience allows the user to see what would happen over a 230 year period to the earth in real time. Move your mouse left and right, forward and backward and scrub through the time line to check in at significant milestone events.
The Challenge
How would the world react without people? Without assets and within a short five week project cycle it was necessary to build a visualization that reflected the core book data: "what if all humans suddenly disappeared?"
The Solution
An experimental 3-D Flash environment where a visitor can pan and zoom through the passing of 230 years depicting a universe that could never be seen by man.
The Success
The site was featured as Adobe's Site of the Day garnering a significant jump in hits to the show site within the crucial days before its original air date.
